Tarpon Woods is located in Pinellas County, Florida, directly east of the large and beautiful John Chesnut Sr. Park and Lake Tarpon. It is accessed primarily through the main entrance off East Lake Road, or a rear entrance off Ridgemoor Rd. Just to the east of the neighborhood is the Brooker Creek Preserve which contributes to the diverse wildlife found in Tarpon Woods.
Local schools are Cypress Woods Elementary, Brooker Creek Elementary, East Lake Middle School, and East Lake High School.
For emergency services, the nearest hospital is Mease Countryside Hospital four miles to the south which includes adult and pediatric emergency rooms. Urgent care options include Baycare Urgent Care and After Hours Pediatrics. Nearby fire rescue stations are East Lake Fire Rescue (station 57, on Facebook) 1.5 miles away, and East Lake Tarpon Fire & Rescue (station 56), only three miles away.
